Flights and Getting Around

Flight information

The Reno airport is a friendly, small airport. The most flexible and affordable airline options are American Airlines and Southwest, but most major airlines carriers connect to Reno. Non-stop, round trip flights from Los Angeles to Reno landing Friday, August 26th (in time to check into hotels, get ready, and depart on the shuttles at 5:00 PM for the Welcome Dinner) and departing on Sunday, August 28th are available on:

Alaska Airlines (starting at $237 round-trip)

American Airlines (starting at $467 round-trip)

Delta Airlines (starting at $422 round-trip)

Southwest Airlines (starting at $203 round-trip)

United Airlines (starting at $477 round-trip)

There is also an option on Jet Suite X (departing from Burbank) starting at $416; however, the return flight is early and would require one to miss the Sunday Brunch.

 Transportation to and from REno

Truckee, CA is approximately 40 miles from the Reno-Tahoe International airport and is about a 45-minute ride to Truckee/Cedar House/Truckee Tahoe Hotel and approximately 60 minutes to the Ritz-Carlton.

Rental Cars:  A rental car may be useful for transport to and from the airport, and for exploring the area in your free time, something we encourage and highly recommend. All major brands are available at the Reno Airport, the rental car facilities are on site, contract/key pick up desks in baggage claim, and the cars are a quick 2-minute walk from baggage claim.  Returns are in the same place. Rental car rates for the wedding weekend start at about $70 per day (Alamo, Budget, Hertz, Enterprise, and Dollar).

Other options: North Lake Tahoe Express is a shared-ride large shuttle bus serving Truckee along the Green Route (NLTE service desk and waiting area are at the far end of baggage claim in the Reno Airport). Shuttles leave the Reno airport and drop to both the Cedar House Sport Hotel and the Ritz Carlton.  Shuttles leave daily at 10:30am, 3:15pm and 11:59pm.   

Taxi:  Taxis are available from the Reno Airport and will cost approximately $140-180 one way to Truckee

 Uber/Lyft:  Both Uber and Lyft are available in Reno.  Uber and Lyft will cost approximately $60-$100 one way depending on the level of car requested (Uber X $60/Comfort $70/XL $97). While Uber is available at Reno Airport, the ride-share options are more scarce in Truckee.

 Transportation to and from Wedding Events

Transportation will be provided for all wedding guests to and from the hotels to the Welcome Dinner on Friday, August 26th departing at 5:00 pm and the wedding Saturday, August 27th departing at 2:45 pm. We will coordinate everyone’s travel from the lodges listed below. We want everyone to enjoy themselves and be safe!

Accommodations

We have investigated all the options for lodging and are confident that everyone will be able to find the perfect place to sleep. The wedding party will be staying at the Hampton Inn (and special rates apply to all guests – see below). If you come across the Cedar House Sports Lodge as you look around, please know that this is a terrific option, but one without central A/C, which may impact your stay in August! Additional accommodations can be made independently through AirBNB. If you choose to find your own lodging, please let us know where you will be staying so we can do our best to provide transportation to and from the events.
